Validating and installing an SSL certificate

SSLUpdated 31 October 2026 · 1 min read

Three ways to prove domain ownership, and where to download your certificate once issued.

Before a certificate is issued, the issuer confirms that you really control the domain. This is called domain control validation (DCV).

Validation options

  • DNS record — the most convenient when the domain is managed at Resmi.ID.
  • Approval email — click the link sent to the domain's admin address, e.g. [email protected].
  • File on your website — upload a small text file to your server. Not available for wildcards.

From order to installed

  1. Choose a product on the SSL page and fill in the domain, period, and validation method.
  2. Complete the payment, then finish validation using the method you chose.
  3. Once issued, download the certificate and private key in the client area under My SSL.
  4. Install both on your server or hosting panel (e.g. cPanel, Plesk, or Nginx).
Guard your private key. A private key is like a house key: don't send it over chat or plain email, and keep it only on the server that uses it.
Certificate not recognised by browsers? Make sure you also install the intermediate certificate (CA bundle) included in the download, then reload the web server.
